Cheapest roofrack type thingy! :D

For a boat you would be best and cheapest to get roof bars like they have on vans from halfords or the like you can get them as wide and as high as you like.
 Not sure how much but carn't be a lot.

Are they some kind of universal fitting?  Not the ones that halfrauds seem to be quoting £140 for?

I have just spoken to a different branch of halfords who says they do a paddy hopsomething or other set for £50. It is only listed from 1993 on but is definately gutter mount.  Was the roof any different between 91 and 93??  

Any ideas?

You could try e-blag for some Thule bars - saw some on "buy em now" for £30 with locjable feet.

I don't actually need any so didn't get them, but am still tempted  :?
