More disco questions

Mine had 205 R16, now has 205/65 R16 and I have driven one with 235s fitted, to be honest, other than the turning circle I didnt notice much of a difference.

Auto/manual - driven lots of manuals, most of them clunked when you took up the drive.   I have driven 3 autos, 1 was terrible and the other 2 were excellent.  Quick accelleration and smoothe gear changes.  The ZF auto used on all the discos up to the TD5 (not sure if they used it on those) is a solid lump which gives little trouble.

Apparently the uprated intercooler can give upwards of 20BHP but like anything I guess the more you spend the better the result.  Also heard of one guy who ran his intercooler through his air-con.

But saying all that, I am sticking with my old carbed V8 !!

Cal:
Hiya,

you normally hear that a standard size but more efficient intercooler is an increase of up to 25% on bhp and the full size efforts are more like 35%.

Have a look at this site:

http://www.bellautoservices.co.uk/ and give Pete a call - the best price I've seen so far, but I guess Allisport and Allards are the most popular at the moment?

Most of them . . . . I though it was ALL of them . . . . the legendary Land Rover Clunk

So young Richard, you can add that to your list as well. When you get one don't think it's broke . . . . . . it's just what they do . . . . . and damned annoying it can be as well

It's why the UK has an Amber stage in its traffic lights, time for the LR owners to take up the slack in their transmission!
