right, another one.
Has anyone had a LPG conversion done on their V8 disco?
If so, how much (ish) and what sort of consumption (relative) do you get, i.e. how far can you get for the price of a gallon of petrol on LPG?

Had one done on an R reg. Sequential gas injection, it was called and is supposed to be better than the older set ups. It cost around £1200 to do but was a very neat job with twin torpedo's stashed underneath. There was no real noticeable difference in power when it switched itself over to LPG and if you ran out it automatically switched back over to petrol. Cheapest places I found were Morrisons and Budjet Gas.

Upsides
Cheaper fuel for a V8
No queues at the pump
dual fuel means next petrol shortage leaves you laughing all the way to the gas tank


Downsides
You have to be sure you are keeping the vehicle a good few years because whilst it's a selling point you'll get very little more for the vehicle if you sell than if it had never been converted.
Get the biggest tanks possible or you will constantly be making trips to fill up.
Whilst it's a lot cheaper, it's still worked out expensive to run the V8 compared with my tdi
It takes twice as long to fill up

I would say about 25mpg, but it seems to vary massively depending on who you ask, mods and driving style etc.

Elmo:
My 200TDi is stock and does 29 mpg driving, 26 mpg towing a small caravan. But I'm no boy racer which probably helps ;)
