Looks like you will need some more pads to replace the contaminated ones, get the full kit, to be safe when stripping, nuts, plates and seal(s), including half shaft gasket.

and if you have time it wouldn't hurt to do the bearings they dont cost the earth and you have it in bits, also have a good look at the rear disc especially the inside face, you'd be amazed on how it can go being behind that shield

It sounds a lot but the overhaul dont take that long to do, also elevate the working side up high it will stop the oil running out down the shaft hole

Already removed the half shaft and only lost a little oil (will top up), was going to get a gasket and seal tomorrow but have to go through Land Rover as in Germany and the LR culture is not quite the same over here.  I am hoping that all the bits will be on the shelf!

Where is the best place to get bearing bits in UK as I may order some anyway as they are cheep and it looks like I will be keeping the Disco?

Ok looked at the Paddocks site and can't seem to find the bearings!

Is there anywhere else you could recommend?

give them a call, paddocks are the best place, bearings are about 4 quid a pop, you can get new thrust washer nuts and lock tabs for about 25 quid...then you are sorted. It is 52mm and paddock sell a tool for the job...about 6 quid

Try looking up Island 4x4 on e.blag. they do loads of reasonably priced parts. If they haven't got what you want give them a ring.
They do a bearing kit for around £12 per axle wich includes the seals. We have ordered a couple of things from them and have arrived by next day delivery, might take a bit longer to Germany though.
Another suggestion is to try to find a squaddie out there who has connections with someone in the MT section, they might be able to get hold of some parts for you!!
