200TDi Engine 1990 Discovery in a Series

Will a 200TDi Engine and gearbox from a 1990 Discovery in a Series go into a Series III 88"?

What will need to be done?

I know this has been asked before but there were no recent posts I could find that gave a comprehensive answer :)

Chassis mounts would need to be changed, so that's some cutting and welding to start with.  Then there probably is also a required conversion plate for the clutch, possibly differant bellhousing required.  The 200TDi can also quite easily destroy the standard Series transmission if you're a little heavy footed, and even then you're probably straining it a fair bit with the max torque of the 200TDi being so low in the rev range.

The engine will fit with a few alterations the gearbox is a definate no go, tried it just not enough room, defender box fits with alot of effort though. If you want the details then pm me and i will send you the info.
