Series 3 with a transit engine

(1/3) > >>

Fuddy as muck:
My series 3 has had a transit engine fitted at some stage and although it is capable enough on road (75mph tops) i'm wondering how far i can take it off-road. Its my first 4x4 and has been bought bought purely for fun. At the moment i'm just looking to take it mildly off-road as opposed to waist high in water or doing 80 degrees on its side  Like i said i'm just wondering how good the Tranny engine is for the Landy to go off-road.

Fuddy as muck:
sorry forgot to say its a 2.5NA diesel

Darren

Jim-Willy:
It can't be any worse than the 2.25 diesel Landy engine.  Get in the mud and see how You go.

ian_s:
if i remember rightly the 2.5d transit engine werent actually that bad
a bit agricultural, but no worse than the 2.25 landy engine,
being honest, if you need more power than that has offroad, your doing something wrong

Andy the Landy:
Great off-road, archaic on road
