blueboar:
Hello

I am sort of trying to trace a lightweight cuthbertson, which was used by the RAF Bomb Disposal in the mid 80's in suffolk.

Does anyone know anything about it? or does anyone know where I could find some information about it??

Many thanks

Bush Tucker Man:
You may be unlucky, as the Cuthbertson set-up was simply a blot on set of individual tracks & wheel assemblies with a 'sub-frame' (carrying  power steering equipmnet for one) to mount it all onto

It could be moved from vehicle to vehicle, so was probably removed from the Light-Weight & went where ever

blueboar:
Thanks for that Bush Tucker Man

I saw a picture of it the other day, and what anamazing peice of kit it looked

If you can get hold of a copy of the video/DVD 'Land Rovers Across Britain' The Lix-Toll (109") Cuthbertson features & it's driven on the road

There's also one at the BMIHT museum at Gaydon

The 'Museum Of Army Transport' at Beverley (East Riding of Yorkshire) had one but since the museum has closed, I have no idea where it is now

I take it you know about 'Centaurs'??

Got some pics of the tracked landy at gaydon if thats the one you are on about
