Electrics Headlightsand Side issue
« on: April 21, 2006, 08:47:15 »
Hi,

Still rebuilding doing the lights now, spent 3 hours trying to get the head and side working correctly, however...

headlights work with the ignition not the headlight switch?

side lights dont work at all.

indicators dont work.

Tail and brake work fine :)

I know this could be a number of things but I was wondering if any body else had the same?

Headlights have a blue lead coming from the steering column switch, at present this is conected to the fuse box number 7, is this correct?

help, ideas, glotting much appreciated  :?  :D

Not a bad idea, all was working before the strip down so it should be ok going back together :(

Got to get through MOT soon as or the long haired general is going to take away all my privalages :) I can sort it out 100% after.

Just in case this helps anybody else out in the future:

Headlights were coming on with the ignition - blue lead from the switch assembly on the steering column was going to the fuse box, changed it to the bottom left connector (looking from the connections side) on the headlight/sidelight switch of the Ins panel.

Side lights not working, the original wiring loom had 1 or 2 leads replaced all though I couldn't find any for the side (tail was working ok), so I teed in on the Black/Red tall light feed just before it goes into the chassis and run this to the sidelights.

All lights now working :) just a new wiper motor needed, sort out the smoke form the engine and it's MOT time.
