knocking noise?
isle of man:
can you be more specific with the model you have.....
so.........let me get this right the noise is only apparent when brakes applied??? you have changed the brake pads and checked the brake disc (rotor i have been dealing with the americans a lot lately with my brakes) and wheel/tyre is faultless and serviceable....can you feel any feed back through the brake pedal when pressed? or the steering wheel? and noise from n/s/f apparent???? is the noise a high pitch clicky knock or more thud type metallic sound? do you have any upgrade parts fitted to the axle?
the uj is a 297 i believe you should also check the hub carrier wile your checking the uj
that should keep you busy tonight.....

AngerManagement:
When i apply brake it makes a thud type knocking noise as wheel rotate's & with the rotation, and yes braking is a little inconsistant, the vehicle is 93' L-reg 4ltr high output Ltd Edition and not mod'd in any way i can see! noise comes from front left wheel though it does sound as though sometimes it also sounds more central as well, though this could be me going slightly mad from try'n 2 work it out!
Will av2 get my mate 2 look in2 the hub carrier though.
isle of man:
ok....on your description by feeling it through the brake pedal it must be disc/hub or bearing related....when you checked the disc earlier did you look (very closely) at the air vents in the centre for corrosion sometimes these can collapse and give the feeling of a warped brake disc......although it looks good until under braking pressure....any heat spots on the brake disc?????
