Yea - just seen the crash, but I have to ask, is it really a fair test pitching a vehicle designed mid 90's against a new style MPV, i know crash zone designs have come along way and its almost a dead cert that a newer car will fair better!

that may be so but that model disco is in abundance on the roads, and i guess they picked a common one, if its a few years old shouldnt get away from the fact that its not the bastion of safety anymore.

even though i doubt fifth gear's aim was to discredit the 4x4 in general, rathe pointing out the outcome.

besides the anti's aim is to discredit their effect on the environment and messing up the countryside rather than saving a person's life (which i think is a more important aspect.)
