Plates Nicked!

<< < (3/5) > >>

mmgemini:
Your plates have been nicked because they can no longer go into any place that makes plates and buy a set.

The motor factor that I use here tells me it's quite normal for people to come and buy new plates as theirs have been nicked.

Strapping Young Lad has a valid point. Mine were nicked about 3/4 years ago whilst my vehicle was parked in a car park,i did the same and rung the police and was told to stay put, within five minutes of reporting it i had a traffic car and an armed response unit in my face and asked have you got an aliby to prove where you have been this afternoon. Now for the good bit ''yes officer twenty players on the pitch, both dugouts and an attendance of 560 spectators''-i was that referee-lucky or what. Reply good your plates were on a vehicle used in Nottingham on a car doing an armed robbery/raid on a petrol station!

Simplest way is to stick a GB Sticker or something on your Landie (assuming it doesn't have one now) so that any speed camera tickets you can prove it wasn't your car.

strapping young lad:
sticker isnt any good if a witness sees the car, they will see the plates, colour and make and model and thats about it

unless your car is very kitted and very distinct then you might not be in luck.

do what i would do

the screws that are on the plate..... round them off

unless you plan to get a personal plate i very much doubt a need to remove the plate from your car.

Popeye:
A mate of mine had his plates nicked he rung the police (the old ones were found in his hedge) his plates were linked to a robbery of some kind. You just have to keep the date of the theft handy so that if the car with your plates commits an offence then you have notified the police so that it is cancelled, but dont commit an offence yourself and try and get out of it because if your nicked plates are spotted miles away from where you are then you could get done for any offence they do and fraud .
