pay pal fraud beware
Edge:
I thought real paypal emails started with your real full name? NOT DEAR CUSTOMER?

--- Quote from: "abinitio" ---We get loads of these each day, apparently my Barclays account will be shut unless I enter the details in a link....not too bothered as I don't have an account with them.

I had a barclays mail like that a few times at the begining of the year. I sent them a nice reply saying close my account I'm not bothered.
Second time they mailed me did exactly the same and pointed out I've never had any accounts with barclays ever at all.

generally speaking, never reply to or open an email you consider to be dodgy.
at worst it can do all sorts of trojan nastyness, keyloggers and gosh knows what else. At best all it does is confirm that there is a person at the other end of the address and will probably get you spammed to death.
Ja1983:
a lot of the time it can look very official, but if theres a link, by hovering over it you can see where it goes to (bottom left corner) if its a series of numbers BE VERY SUSPICIOUS!
no forums/sites/banks/etc will send you a mail asking for your details, they already have them. and in the highly unlikely event that they`ve lost them, they will ask you to re-register or come to the bank... not mail over all your personal info!

--- Quote from: "Rocketman" ---DONT EVER
REPLY to these emails. If you are unsure send it to spoof@paypal.co.uk
or if it is supposed to come from ebey send to spoof@ebay.co.uk
REPEAT DONT EVER REPLY TO THESE
OR CLICK ON ANY LINK

Clicking on the links can cost more people than just you, a guy in Wales clicked on an Ebay link and fed in his info, next morning he wonders why he has a heap of emails from Ebay - he is most surprised to see he is selling cameras in the US !!!!!
How do I know all this ?, my fiancee's neice got ripped off $1,000 trying to buy one on a 2nd chance off - she had already sent the money by Western Union before Ebay caught up with the scamsters. She managed to get hold of the original guy's details from Ebay and I called him to get confirmation of her fears.
