Advice on prolonging life of CAT

Check the regs and the age of your veichle. Past a certain age if it was an option to can remove it. EG The Audi has been de-catted and it isnt needed fro the MOT in this cae. Its an H reg and was legally removed (Although I should remove the 'Shon Mit Katalyzer Technic' Sticker from the rear window)  :D

Another thing that CATs don't like is sulphur found in diesel fuel (obviously not a problem with petrols), it cruds them up. even with low sulphur diesel the CAT will eventually crud up, it just takes a little longer.

One cure for this i've heard of is a weak citric acid solution (due to a dodgy memory usuall disclaimers apply and the type of acid may not be 100% correct :? ) which can remove the sulphur, extending the working life of the CAT.
