HTML My First go at it!!!

One suggestion, one correction, and one comment.
If you don't want users to get fed up pretty quickly give them some sort of menu or back link.
The website address for GLASS is www.glass-uk.org [-X
Microsoft Word is NOT a HTML editor, even Frontpage is better. There are some free wysiwyg editors out there, but well done for trying. =D> =D>

All the photos seem to be working now Darren. :D
Are you uploading the raw HTML or are you using a program to build the site?
If you're not used to HTML then sometimes it's handy to have a program like MS Frontpage or Dreamweaver. These allow you can see what the page looks like before uploading and the program automaticly inserts the links & uploads all the files & photos for you.
My site was done using some of the templates that come with Dreamweaver and I just put my own colours in there with wording and photos. Just click the banner below for a look.
Gords & Tim are the best ones to speak too about all things website.
Good luck with it, like the list of routes!

Umm, maybe
Notepad is perfectly fine for writing web pages, especially when starting out - HTML is really not that difficult and writing it by hand is a good way to learn.
Dreamweaver is professional standard ... but also excellent for beginners.
My 2p worth - add a menu so that you can get to a page from any other. Make your external links open in a new window (add target=_blank to the hyperlink code < a > tag).
Oh yes, drop Word and use Notepad (to start with). Alternatively, take a look at the computer magazines as they often have free editing software on their cover disks.

I was going to post earleir but got caught up in a small crisis when my server went all kinds of weird, 4hrs later though things are back to normal and happy in the land of Smogdom.
Makes a change to see others who use notepad for HTML the whole of my site was written by myself on notepad then saved as html and THEN uploaded to my site using WS_FTP, which is more than easy to use and free of course I also use it for the Digichat chat room I also have on my site. \:D/
My site consists of well over 2000 pages now and I admit I use a template I made a long time ago but still writing HTML as with C++ is not as difficult as it may seem at first. :P
The thing is it’s wonderful to take advice from people but it’s whether you listen is the key to it all, that and filtering out the not so useful advice from people who know little about lots but not a lot about anything. For instance, I know how nuclear fission works it don’t make me able to give more than simple advice though
I would look at using front page as a ‘learner’ or even if you can beg borrow or even buy a copy of the up-to-date DreamWeaver but it is always better to understand the process rather than let a program do all the work for you.
For instance, I personally NEVER let anyone else work on my landrovers other than my father and myself Not only does he understand them so do I including all the tiny bits that get left over after a full rebuild.(we know where they go) but we understand how the petrol air mix spark makes bang bang pushes piston blah blah same with HTML.
Sorry to have rattled on and as always I am more than happy to be shot to pieces for my opinion but it is simply 90% B**sh*t and 10% misrepresentation.
