There seems to be a big amount of ,massive tired,10 inch plus lifted ,single cab Hilux's around where I live ,Ireland .I am starting to become so envious that I was half thinking of abandoning my 110 project.
:? :? :? :?
Does anyone no how know how they stock up together with off road ability :?: :?: :?:

The only info I know is that my brother in law in Oz uses one and absolutely swears by it...... He works for the fire service in the bush out there and wont have anything else. Dont know how non-standard it is.
He was given a ford Ranger while it was in for service a few weeks ago and wouldnt dare use it on the same terrain as the hilux

Mate of mine used to run a fairly standard one. Only real problem off road was a lack of articulation and not enough weight over the back axle. Break over angle can be a problem also.

The early ones had a beam axle, so many people here swap out the IFS front.
Add a monster lift (suspension and body), diff locks all round (think the rear comes with one) and a they seem quite competant.
But this is a lot of work and $$. You can get the same load capacity in a 110 and when compared to a stock hilux, much better ability.
How does a modified lux compare to a modified 110? Hard to say, depends on the mods, etc.
They are very popular here as there are so many that parts are cheap.
