Can anybody explain if any, how much of the front end cap needs to be removed.

Mines a 300 tdi and the tyres don't catch the end caps. That said, i knocked one the other week and it wasn't quite straight so the tyre did start to catch, once back in place it cleared again.

Grabber MT's are great in all kinds of MUD with loads of tread depth, they do however suffer from lack of sidewall protection and sidewall grip. Get angry with them and they dig down pretty quick.
