New Tyres
andygod:
My new tyres are 235/83/16, I know that I will need to fit extended bump stops, adjust the Steering stops and trim the rear wheel arch and front-end cap. I have a 2" lift fitted, could somebody please explain the wheel arch and end cap cutting, i.e. at what angle do I cut, how much do I need to remove etc
many thanks in advance

Photos that may help...
I use a standard electric jigsaw with a fine toothed metal cutting blade. Went like a hot knife through butter. Cleaned up the edges with a file.
I've since increased the cut from 1" to nearly 2"
Wanderer:
You can make the cut and move the remaining piece back to keep the wheel arch lip.
Cut from the bottom until you get to the wheel arch lip and then put the cut piece on the inside. With the right glues or whatever you can make it look quite tidy. If you're not really bothered then just self tap or pop rivet.

what did you use to cut it, would an angle grinder be alright
andygod:
Ok I’ve cut the back wheel arch as per photo using a small angle grinder. Cut is clean and looks fine. Do I now need to trim the front-end cap?
