to some extent I agree with you bullfrog, we do have to accept some responsibility for what we drive.  But look at it this way, if I were to run my disco on veg oil it would be 0g C02 but I would get no tax reduction.  Or I could buy a cheap old ford fiesta produce more c02 and still pay less tax than I would with nice clean veg oil!!!

where do i stand - mine is a 99 disco but first registered in this country in 2004 as i imported it from Australia?

Regardless - do they really think we will rush out and sell our beloved transport just cos they put the cost up by £40 or whatever.

I have a person in the office who drives a fiat which kicks out a heap of black smoke but because it is below 1000 cc she thinks she won't have to pay any road tax any more!!!!

i believe that a lot of people out there are going to get a real shock next road tax time!!!! - and none of them will own a 4wd
