Mean Green:
on roughtly page 168 it states that as of sept 1st 2006 LPG duty will be increased by 2.25p per litre.

MK-90:
All land rovers are in band F. So thats a £25 increase to £195 / year

Plus another £5 increase...meaning we will pay £200 a year for our tax

Thats how i read it

A friend sent this by email earlier

--- Quote ---The actual changes are...

* Vehicles registered before 1st March 2001

Duty for vehicles above 1549cc increased from £170 to £175.  Duty for
    smaller engines unchanged at £110.

* Vehicles registered on or after 1st March 2001

Band D and E vehicles have their duty unchanged.  Vehicles with lower
emissions have cheaper RFL, and vehicles with higher emissions get
    more expensive.

For vehicles that don't fall into the next group, the highest band
is still F, with petrol RFL rising from £165 to £190, and diesel
    rising from £170 to £195.

* Vehicles registered on or after 23rd March 2006

This has the new GVED band "G".  For emissions of 226 g/km or more
of CO2, this introduces a RFL of £200 for alternative fuels, £210
for petrol, and £215 for diesel.

So not exactly the doomsday scenario that the press were predicting for 4x4 owners. I guess there are a few red faces in "Fleet Street".

johnty:
I think you will find that you are either pre 2001 or you are in band F. As far as I remember it the VED rates do not apply to anything pre 2001 so for me the disco will go up £5 a year and and my series 2a will still be free

Not that I agree with the increase but surely LPG/Bio fuel users are already getting a tax break by the prices of such fuel ?
I had an LPG rangie for a while(grunter's now) and was impressed with fuel costs.
Of course I would love reduced tax but lets get real here ! If WE choose to drive these vehicles(no one is forcing us) as there are alternatives in seven seat formats etc then we should bear the increase with dignity !
As I read it it applies to all fuel burners and not just 4x4s. As a lot a 4x4s are diesal then whers the problem as we will have lower emisions and wont be liable for an increased tax band in the future.
I have to say if you can afford to run a car that does 14 MPG then you can afford the tax.
The old saying goes. If you have to ask what it does to the gallon you cant afford it !
