Ahh, that sounds like the venerable box spanner. Mine was a 1/2" drive socket. The box spanners are cheap and work very well unless you have a hubnut thats rotted itself onto a really cheap lock washer. Then life gets amusing.

Moral of the story - spend a couple pennies more on the washers and you don't need to buy a seriously big socket!  :lol:

Yeah, its costing me £5:40p, instead of £50+ for a socket.
