Problems to look for on a 413
« on: March 15, 2006, 11:35:44 »
I am going to look at a 413 tonight (1992), it will be my first 4x4.

I have had a long line of air cooled vw's, all modified / resored to various extents, so i know my way around a tool box!

What i need to know is....

...are their particular problem areas to look for?

e.g.

rust traps, signs of mechanical trouble etc etc

any advice?

If I were you, just check all the wheels arches and the springs on the back along with the shackles as they can sometimes bend. Not a lot else I can say really but I hope it all goes well for you.

the car looks good overall  :D

all suspension parts seem to be good (very little slop), not rust on chassis, or underbody. Just a few cosmetic areas really, but i'm  not worried about that!

So........by the end of the week i should be fully paid up suzuki owner!  8)

If You need a trailer PM me ! :D
Try Ebay as there is a guy up north who sell old chassis. I would strengthen it a bit first though :?
