No reason why not, same PCD

They just always seem to look odd on a Defender (well, to me they do anyway)

I have some on my 90 for the road wheels they fit OK but you have to keep checking they are on right and re-tightening the nuts, they aren`t a perfect fit. As long as you do that they should be OK
If theres a harder way to do it I`ll find it!!

I'd be a bit woried if they don't fit Tony, check the studs have either a shallow slot or triangle stamped in the end, also the corners of the hub flange should be relieved to fit an alloy wheel.  If your hubs were not meant for alloys then I'd suggest you stop using them before something comes adrift.

the reason being your 90 isnt designed to take alloy wheels as it will have the large drive flanges & drum rear brakes, the defenders (93/94on) have disc rear brakes & can take any of te disco/rangie/defender alloy wheels

As it happens they tended to only get put on when she wanted me to tow her horse trailer.
I am selling that 90 now, just don`t know which wheels to sell it with, I was going to sell it with the alloys on cos thats how I bought it. (I want to keep my muds)
Now you say that not sure I should sell it with the alloys on.
If theres a harder way to do it I`ll find it!!
