Gearbox troubles
« on: March 10, 2006, 20:37:31 »
Having just had the best drive of her life from Brighton to London, I got off the M25, was using the engine to break, when CRUNCH!!  The gearbox decided it had had enough.  So there I was blocking off the entrance from the M25 sliproad onto a rather busy roundabout in the early rush hour.  Got some nice looks, some angry looks and some abuse from people in a horse carrying truck (I wonder if they ride on Byways?!).

After a while the Highway Agency turned up, gave me a tow to a lay-by (the gearbox was making a heck of a racket) and left me to it.  I got in my girlfriends car and got home.  Have just been out to collect the landy.  Sorry looking beast. Now parked in a caravan storage area, waiting for my Dad and I to get the time to go and put a new gearbox in.

Ho Hum.  No laning for a few months now  :(
