MOT - what to remember?
strapping young lad:
feww things to remember..
1) the vehicle in question
2) the current mot certificate
;)
Bush Tucker Man:
Fabia's going tomorrow morning to the main-dealer for its first MoT test
Wonder if it'll pass :?

Plenty shiney enough to pass I think. If something was broke, you would of seen it, unlike Landies coated in mud that you never see the broken/leaking parts. :P

Well it passed, but with realignment of both(?) headlamps for some reason
Advisories on;
1. One rear seat-belt as it couldn't be tested with Child-Seat in place.
Before you all comment on the tester not moving the seat out of the way, as I understand it the vehicle is tested exactly as presented[/u]
2. Deterioration of a bush in the near-side front suspension arm.
Must be an unexpected item, as it's getting done under warranty next week (2 days before it expires)
I waited & spent the time drooling over the new Octavia vRS, very tasty.
I even went as far as asking how much we'd get in PX against a showroom/new vehicle.
(circa £5,000 as a 'ball-park figure, 3year old & 14,600miles)
thermidorthelobster:
Damnation. Mine failed, on CO2 emissions.
I presented it on Unleaded instead of LPG, partly cos I thought the HC emissions would be high on LPG, cos it doesn't idle that well (to do with the poppet valves in the carbs).
It was 4.65, it needed to be 4.5.
This means I have to trek all the way down to Mitcham again tomorrow - about a 3 hour round trip - just so they can retest the emissions!
If anybody fancies posting what I need to do to solve the problem, that will save me some head scratching :D
By the way, the MOT took nigh-on 2 hours, while they figured out the best way to test the damn thing. The brakes caused the biggest headache. In the end I drove along at 10mph with the tester in the passenger seat and jammed the brakes on. And they tested the handbrake by parking it on a slope and seeing if it slid down again.
