muddyjames:
sorry to be thick but whats an anacondas?

gecko:
tyres

muddyjames:
oh ok. I thought it was some buggy thing that had wierd tyres that werent road legal or something!

clbarclay:
Theres a lot of safety factor built into speed ratings I suspect, I Know of several people that have run anacondas on the road, at about 60 mph  , and yes they know what there rated at.

datalas:
there probably is, but do you really want to be there the day tha tthe safety factor gives up ?

Up to you at the end of the day, but I suspect there is a difference between a manufacturer saying "please don't do more than 100mph in these" and one that declares they can only be spun to 60mph.

additionally with remoulds there are different methods of failure,  a "new" tyre will likely crack, go off balance and start to leak or rupture, a remould can not only do that, but also have the tread seperate I would have thought.

Then again, it's upto you, your money, your bodywork, your squelchy bits.  I have remoulds on the disco, but they're S-Rated, the disco isn't :).   Just warn me where you're driving so I can avoid it :D
