Handbrake question
jimthelandyman:
My handbrake seems a little wierd as after it has been on it sticks until i move a couple of metres then it frees off, this is very annoying as i have to give it more revs than normal for steep hill handbrake starts, this is beginning to annoy me so does anyone have any suggestions or cures?
Hangover:
Personally i would remove the drum and check inside, check for any oil contamination or siezed parts, you may as well put some new shoes in while your at for what they cost.

robbie:
ours was the same on the 90 until we stripped it down and cleaned it up. Not a dificult job, just a bit fiddly. When everything is stripped down, clean it up really well and use copper grease on it to keep it running free, especially the little rollers that actuate the mechanism
Oh, and we also have the same issue on the Disco but not as bad so it will wait until the weather is warmer ;)
jimthelandyman:
cheers guys, will probably have to wait for a day when i don't need to drive- dam!!!
robbie:
until then, just make sure you dont put it on too tight when your parking it. We did that and it siezed overnight, making it difficult to get onto the drive to fix it
but of course leave it in gear so it will be where you left it the night before ;)
