David Bellamy attacks 4x4s
Ja1983:
well what a puffed up old cock! lol
is it not a fact that much of the problems in sucj areas are that your typical rambler will walk allong a pre-designated route until he/she comes across a puddle! then walk around it.. leaving his butty rappers, tissues etc in the heather at the side.. a few more do the same.. quite soon there is a large area of rocky unfertile, and generally ruined land where the more humble footpath used to run....
as for 4x4s, do we form a mass divertion to avoid a small muddy hole..u know the answer! although yes, sometimes it can end up been upassable, its this poin that responsible people would report it, even offer to help out, although some would attempt to go round it.
"every action has an equal and opposite reaction" - how true, for soeone to take pleasure means someone else will loose out, but if everyone is considerate and responible and respects each others needs, we can all enjoy whats left of the best side of our country!

 we should all write to the editor
this is what i have just sent
Dear editor
We have always enjoyed the country side and have been camping for many years in tents, caravans and motorhomes.
We also use green lanes in 4x4s which we help to keep clear from becoming over grown and open to all by removing dumped vehicles and rubbish ect.
Now my wife has become disabled and cannot walk more than a few steps at best on the flat never mind on rough ground and still wishes to see the country side so we use a landrover for green laning and towing a caravan
Which we can and do use bi-diesel which is very eco friendly
So why do the press persecute the 4x4 owners when the travel industry ie air craft and shipping use ten times the amount of fuel and create more greenhouse gasses than all the 4x4 put together but the press dont tell people to stop flying and holiday at home

Agreed he should try pushing a 20 stone person in a wheelchair up a footpath, that would finish him off
