One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.

Personally I prefer the new Camaro & Challenger mentioned somewhere else on this particular forum
(plus the present Mustang)

Only in America do you find a 200mph car that still runs on cart springs   When will they learn how to build proper cars???   They can look staggering, like the Camaro and Challenger that BTM mentioned, but when it comes to vehicle dynamics, they simply haven't got a clue.

They aren't a great deal better at engine design either. I remember renting a Chevy something or other 'compact' on one of my business trips over there. It was one of the most gutless things I have ever had the misfortune to drive. Just out of interest I lifted the bonnet to find a 3 litre V6 sat in there   It did about 20mpg at best and was totally devoid of any sort of performance!

The Vette is a pretty car but it takes 5 litres to generate 300bhp if I remember correctly. Just imagine what a european company would achieve with 5 litres. The japanese manage to get 300bhp out of 2 litres in a perfectly mannered road car!

Gosh, that feels better!!! Despite all that, you simply can never beat the sound of a stonking great American V8  :D
