'Car Wars'
« on: February 15, 2006, 20:55:50 »
New series (3 parts) starting on BBC1 at 21;00 (until 22:00)
Greater Manchester Police are the stars (& they've got Rangies, I seem to remember)

I love to see the thieving scrotes get belted by a truncheon when they're caught.
Just a pity other peoples property suffers

I was a bit disgusted - the case where they broke into the garage to find the stolen motor and discovered the ringing operation, the bloke they nicked only got a £200 fine!!! At that level, he probably considers getting caught an 'operational expense' It looks like another case where the police are putting in a huge effort only to be let down by the courts.

£200 fine as if what will stop them! The court system seems to fail time and time again! No wonder there is so much crime

He'd have made £200 selling one set of wheels and tyres of the scrapper.

An interesting programme.........

Sorry, it was Manchester based, not South Yorkshire

I'll bet the camera crew were more han worried when the scrotes started to get out with (apparantly) a Machete & golf-clubs
They were thinking about filming somewhere safe like The Bronx

And why did it appear that the scrote on the fleeing Volvo appeared to have been treated first before the driver of the Astra(?) that he hit

do you have to treat them, bet they would regret doing somrthing after a night in the slammer with a broken arm and no pain killer

didn't see the whole program but what i did see was good, is it part of a series or just a one of program?
i wish, i wish, i wish i had a landy,

Yes, they have to be treated. Got to be able to stand in front of the Magistrate & be granted bail
My point was that it appeared that the innocent driver was a secondary thought, scrote wasn't going to run off.
Admittedly it may have just been editing & camera angles

I'm a bit concerned now. I have latex gloves and at least one 32mm spanner in my Disco.

Given the bumpers on mine I don't think I'd be looking for anything else to go ramraiding with. Wouldn't make a very fast getaway car though.

I have the same but I think that they are the least of my worries. I have a sledgehammer and a felling axe in the back of the car. I also always have a leatherman in my pocket - It's something I have to remember to take out before flying.

Last time I went to the pub I was carrying a reasonable sized pipe wrench.

I don't think I should go out.

Oh dear, it's as bad at home, there's a splitting axe next to the front door and a hand axe under the front step.

Regards

Wolfie

Do tree loppers and a machete (albeit one that's well stashed in the boot) count as a 'potential gang-member'? As for the 2' pry bar ... maybe I should be a little more wary of the Police too!

There was one guy who got nicked, they said he had 20 odd convitions for ramraiding, why is he still on the street?

I also carry latex gloves in my car, so handy when you need to pop the hood and not spend 10 minutes getting grease or oil of your hands.  Also I carry a pocket knife that I use daily so I better be careful.

if a scrote fleeing from the police crashed into your car and put you in hospital and wrote of your car would you blame the police for chasing them or the scrote for being a criminal moron
