moving to newcastle!
Ja1983:
me and SWMBO are currently looking at houses in the newcastle area (shes off to uni to be an even cleverer [!Expletive Deleted!] so she can get a good job and afford to buy bits for my truck... :wink: )
obviously the areas are a big consideration, so does anyone know where the best places are for playing up there? (well, local leisure facilities have to be considered when buying somewhere!)
also wheres the N.E meet? :D
Merlin:
Weardale Off Road Centre is the nearest to your new area, just a pleasent ride out over country lanes to get there, would think about 20 mls.
Your nearest independant 4*4 place is "Cheviot 4*4", not used them myself but heard good things about them & they are keen off-roaders themselves.
Autoservice at Stanley (about 20 mls dependant on what part of Newcastle you are moving to) is another good & helpful independant place.
+Rossleighs as well for your "Classic" parts.
A good day out is Langdale Quest, it's on the Yorkshire moors, loads of good lanes in Yorkshire & Wensledale but I don't know about your home County of Northumberland.
Good luck with the move==Cogs
Disco Geordie:
welcome to geordie land.
Great suggestions Cogs, theirs also 4 muddy feet just of the A1 in Morpeth and Mastora in Alnwick for independant specalists.
As for play areas Cogs has suggested the one ones that spring to mind.
The NE meet has not got a settled venue as of yet tend to move it around due to the geographic spread, Berwick to Middlesbrough is a long haul so tends to be in the middle or occasionaly closer to one of the outer areas of the region.
Drop me a PM I'll gladly show you round and advise on areas to look for housing etc.
Bush Tucker Man:
On a slightly unassociated aspect, there's also 'DiggerLand'[/ul] near Durham to go & play at (coming soon to Xscape' at Castleford as well :D )
But the most important point;
Don't forget the translation books so you understand exactly what they're saying
