Td5 & Bio-Diesel?

I've been looking into the feasability of producing my own Bio-diesel, so i've done a lot of reading up on it. As far as I can tell theres a HUGE difference between real Bio-diesel and straight Veg Oil (SVO) and many people get the two confused. Veg oil on its own will work in a diesel engine but if its cold enough it will be to thick to be pumped.
Bio is made from mixing Caustic Soda and methanol to the Veg oil then washing it all through to remove any soapy deposits.
So if the process isn't carried out accuratly enough it can cause probs, So it depends if you trust the source of the Bio :lol:
I'm still trying to work out if its a worthwile business venture :wink:
