on my other home they are organising a track night, was pondering, set o road tyres n fuel up the racer n away i go,think i should??

Henry Webster:
Other home?

It would be a bit of fun, but beware I know that some tracks aren't altogether keen on 4x4s going round.  In know Knockhill used to say a definite 'No' at so-called open-track days!

Fair point. :D

However, I like driving fast and I have gone the route that I have because I enjoy all motorsports, but my first love is off roading.

My car is designed to work as a rally car, and an off road race vehicle.  I'm not to bothered by challenges, but at a push and with the addition of a winch it could be used for that.  I can do road events, hillclimbs, sprints, potentially track days.  In fact I could, in theory enter most motorsports that allow standard or modified cars.

I am planning to enter a gravel stage rally, alongside my Hillrally commitments this year and also fancy a shot at a tarmac stage rally.  Sure the Discovery is never going to be a match for an Impreza or Escort Cosworth, but it'll be fun trying and we wont be last!

If I wanted to do rallying full time though, I'd buy a rally car.  It just makes a interesting change and shows the 'all road' capability of our vehicles.

Ive done track days on M/bikes, but the thought of a 'herd' of discos and landies barelling down the start finish straight has me rolling on the floor.

Maybe theres a potential race series there. There would have to be a small off road loop to ensure all the competitors retained mud tyres and floppy suspension tho..............

Now that would be good to watch!
