Air Impact Wrenches

(1/5) > >>

drum:
Anybody got any experience of them. I've had one sat around for ages, but it couldn't pull the skin of a rice pudding. I thought it was the air line, which was small bore, and far to long. I've just replaced it with 3m of 1/2in ID Hose. Still now guts to it.

The Gun is rated at 6 Bar, and the Compressor is 8 Bar.

Jimbo:
I believe that its all to do with the CFM rating (cubic feet per minute ?) - which is a rating of the compressors ability to produce a sustained pressure for an amount of time. I think tools like air impact wrenches and stuff need a high CFM value, not just a high pressure (Bar) rating.

landyman Ash:
The opne we use at the barn is off a 6 bar compressor and that will undo ANYTHING!

In fact its so good it can (and has      ) sheared off the head

Think its your air gun thats at fault.  We bought one for about £30, sorry cant remember where

drum:
The Air Gun is 4 CFM, and we thing the Compressor is 6CFM, so I think it should be alright for that. The air gun isn't that old, (but out of warrant), just that I never really used it much, but could have done with a couple of times recently.

I can more or less hold then end of it still, I don't think it's even getting 40 Nm!!! And it should be well over 300 from the spec sheet.

Xtremeteam:
have you tried oiling the gun, find with mine it makes a difereance sometimes
