I know this is whingeing a little, but I took my Shogun Sport in for service today, 18k miles, and it cost £425.82!!! Now, I dont mind paying the money if it is worth it and they did seem to do a good job. Changed to synthetic oil, even swapped the tyres round for me which was a nice touch...... mechanic finger prints in some of the places I checked so it looks like they actually did what was on the list anyway... It does sound smoother too now, not sure if that is the different oil, time will tell

BUT

they could have cleaned it for me for that price. Just a simple thing like a small valet and external wash would have a least made me FEEL as if something had been done........... instead of getting in the same car I left with them some £425.82 earlier.......

or am I asking too much??   :?

Yeeh I dont disagree with either of you, it is just that for the £400+ you dont actually SEE anything done.....

Perhaps I should just accept the way it is

bit sad but on my old car I use to scratch the oil filter and over bits just to make sure they did replace them all, plus a bit of food colour in the cooling, which a garage tried to charge for flushing and replacing but in the end they had to admit that cuss it was full and clean they didn't change it   , got a free MOT and 1/2 price service anyway. but wouldn't ever go back there again.

Yeeh, checked most of the things, new filter(s), grease where it looks like it should be, tyres changed etc etc, but it just seems like you would actually get something you can 'feel' for your money if the car looked and smelled a little cleaner coming out of the garage, than when it went in.....

Maybe no one really cares about 'service' anymore :(
