hi, got to help friend change his cltuch in a 90 at the weekend any advice, or tips would be appriciated

Another mud-cluber just round the corner....

My advice, having done the clutch on my 110"...

Take it out of the passenger door!!!

Remove seats, floor panels, and seatbox and you have quite a bit of room and easy access..  

Disconect props, breathers, and difflock and reverse light wiring.... undo all the bellhousing bolts and gearbox mounts and lift it out with an engine crane (it is quite heavy with transfer box etc still attached)

Before you remove the gearbox, also worth putting a piece of wood between the engine and the cross member (or use an axle stand) so when you pull the gearbox off the engine will not drop (which can cause the fan to hit the radiator on some engines).


You can do it from underneath, but is a bit of squeeze without a ramp/lift.
Plus you get covered in Cr*p.


The only problems you may come across removing the flooring and seat box is seized bolts... so worth having an angle grinder to hand.

Also.... use a decent clutch, not a cheap and nasty one.. and is it worth replacing the clutch release arm at the same time as they have a habit of being piereced... resulting in no clutch.
