telling you mate everyone and there dog has chinese writing. How about sanskrit or old norse(RUNES) just think a bit more mate its gonna be on there for ever ask yer old man about tatoos he regrets! I know ive got a few !     (even japenese would make a change)
yer better not naff this up an come back to these shores or god help me yer auld aunt nelly will jump out of her grave an like as not kick yer teeth in......

Couldn't agree more Nelly.

Think twice son before you have any tattoo, then think about it again, if it contains a name of a girlfriend/wife etc think even harder.

As you know I've had many coverups in my years which have been names of the x's. As Nelly says there there for a long time.

choice wisely.

I mean tilly is a good old english name and if yer proud of her how about having it done in Old english/saxon script? Then theres old germanic script !
But think about bud even robbie williams has a chinese writting on him.
Plus the only historical president for chinese tatoo's was on criminals (the dog face) Hence most older chinese cant understsnd why we do it! And if your going to have japenese tatoo's ,well thats a very differant story (yacuza  samurai etc) My mate has a very very nice tatoo across his shoulders/neck of the celtic spelling of "family/blood". Which is very good but also serves to illustrate the point that english doesnt translate into other languages/script very well.As other races express there vocabulary very differantly! Hence he had to find the conjoined word/meaning.
My sister is studying manderin chinese at the moment and believe me its not simply a case of just changing one set of simbols for another.
Like I have said mate think outside the box tats are very personal things.Dont just go with the flow! Ive been thinking for over a year how to get WYATT's name on my skin and ill know when ive got it right. So please mate just think about it.Or even pop round and talk to me about it you know ive got an enormous amount of literature about all things wierd and wonderful tatoo's being the least of it.
P.S. sorry to go on but i wish some one gave me or my friends the time of day when it came to tatoo's

Heard it before about someone having chinese writing/names, went to takeaway and the people behind the counter start laughing. I have plenty of tats, even one on the back of my head. DONT do it mate.
I also have a mate called Clint, should have seen the spelling of that when he came out of the tat shop.
Unless you know the true translation of something Dont let someone tat it on your skin.

You'll get the constant "Whats is say?", which might be better than me - I get strangers in bars coming up to me and PAWING my arm and wanting to take photos and stuff.

There was a report in the paper a while ago where a girl went to China and got Angel in Chinese on her arm.
When she got home she showed it to her mate's.
As you can imagine, they loved it.
A while later, she was in her local Chinese take away.
The person serving noticed the tatoo and laughed.
She enquired what was so funny.
Turns out the tatoo said hoar.
I think the moral of the story when dealing with perminent markings in a language you dont know is to check, check and check again.
