Oil leak from diff

Not a big job if you have the tools etc.........but the diff pan can be changed very easly (sp).........and a new one welded on.
I broke my rear diff on the last trial and put a big hole in the pan.......just welded it up.......no problems.

ah well thats good news. Anyone know where I can get a diff pan for a Discovery 1 300tdi? (or are they all the same for landys?)

They cost about £20 but i carnt find any online........i use 4muddyfeet for most of my parts.

Okay next question....

We are thinking of buying a MIG welder, but how difficult is it to weld? Can you just practice on some scrap metal and then blag it?

Or is it a proper skill that requires something like a training course?

I've looked it up on google and people are talking about pushing and pulling :?:
