Rear Mud Flaps!!

Hi folks,

Ive just purchased a new set of rear mud flaps for my 50th Disco. When I got home I thought it would be a case of unbolt the old stubb left on the bracket and bolt on the new flap. Once down low enough to see the bracket it appears they are not bolted but some form of rivet holdong them on.

Does anyone know the best way to tackle these fixings so that I can replace the snapped flap?

I think when I did mine I just drilled the old ones out and replaced them with small nuts and bolts.

Mines a one flapper too.  Whats the flexible ones you can get ? I must get that fixed on mine, but dont want another snapper plastic one.

Ground mine off with the angle grinder and again replaced them with nuts and bolts.

Pity I've got a brand-spank pair in the bag with the proper fittings.

My near-side was damaged by the high kerb where I parked it at work. It got sick of the impact & first punched the strut mounting bolt through the outer wing  :evil:
Then somewhere along the line (I only noticed it after dragging the  BWSOW up to Windermere) I lost the off-side flap altogether.

So my father-in-law got me a large piece of rubber matting that is used for bus mud-flaps & flooring.
I cut off the off-side & junked it all, cut the rubber to an approximate shape & bolted them on.

Hey Presto!, flexible flaps & still short enough not to get caught up reversing up a kerb (but still a heavy enough gauge rubber so they don't flap about too much
