Swingaway spare wheel carriers ?
« on: April 20, 2004, 13:56:27 »
People Hi,

A friend with a D90 is looking for a swingaway spare wheel carrier.
The type that allows the back door to open without opening the spare wheel carrier first but opens along with it, even when you open the back door from the inside.

Does anybody know whether this is the type that MANTEC offers?
If it is not then who does it and what is their price?

Thanks in advance for your kind input.

Take care

Mantec do do a swing away, I not sure of the price, I purchased a swing away from Deven 4x4.

Depending on your budget they are various makes/models on the market.

Heres a link to Deven 4x4 http://www.devon4x4.com

Hi pantg

I've got the Mantec on the back of my 90. It cost me about £180 from the LRO show in Peterborough, and is well worth the money.

Hopefully there's a link in my signature which should have a few photos going through the fitting of the unit.

Cheers

Pantelis,
Scorpian Racing also do a swing away carrier. I had some issues with it when fitting, and if there was ever a next time, I would go for the Mantec one.

Good luck.

One of my friends is selling a swing away carrier. It is sound piece of kit, opens with the door and does not vibrate. I would have bought it, had I not spent ages fabricating and welding my own onto my LR!

Send me a PM if you are interested and I'll put you in touch with my friend.

Kev
