Exhaust
colintandy:
:D thats what i thought cant end under has to exit either rear or side rear thanks might just have it bent and side exiting then i think ...is very long at rear end :?
davidlandy:
gonna be making a side exit exhaust for mine soon , well it already comes out the side , so what i really mean is a little higher up so that it comes thru a hole in the rear quarter panel.
just working out the best way to do it without bodging it.
beggers:
Think everyone is loosing the point, I was asking about what exhaust to use for better power. Is it better to have a single box system or keep a twin box one? I like the various arguments for the rear / side exit systems but this is trivial really. Can anyone help?
muddyweb:
Not everyone... I said not to expect much in the way of power gains from any exhaust system on a tdi engine.
1, 2, none... I doubt it will make a hugely noticable difference, so go with whatever you think sounds nicest :-)
Bulli:
several points on that one beggars. Single box is cheaper!Power gains depend on how much flow the boxes have versus the one box. If you go to the right system one box with less restirction will flow better as the exhaust gasses wont change direction as often. One box is easier to route out of the way of all the transmission.
So I would go for, and have, only one muffler.
Hope that helps.
