--- Quote from: "jim-willy" ---I just want a offroad set so colway too road biased. I looked at Greenway and nearly ordered some but ran out of money. Then someone told me nowt is better in mud than a SAT.

OK, I've only had Nivas but my first one had SATs, which were vey good and my 2nd has Technic Trackers which is basically the same as the COLWAY M/Ts
My 3rd Niva had a set of THE ALIGATORS which were at the time rated at 30mph and got through MOTs etc and were absolutely UNSTOPPABLE! The only thing was that if they got bogged down they would grip into the mud so well that the Niva engine didnt have enough grunt to pull them out!! If I was going to have an off-roadf only set of tyres, then I'd probably go for those again.
Got the Colway Diamond Tread ones now and they seem quite capable though!
jjsaul:
We've got some Greenway Macho's on our rangie and they are fairly unstoppable in mud :)
And they're cheap :D
Available from sowden tyres.
PUX:
hey jim my mate has anaconda frm greenway and they do an excellent job off road and they are a good price as long as u go for the the most common sizes good luck with ya choice
drmike:
I always understood that SAT tyres were the best at the time. The copies were good but that there was something about the compound and carcas that the copies couldn't manage. I think Simmonites amongst others do Mud Pluggas.
If we are talking about which tyre to get then we'll have a long thread!
I've had Machos on a RRC and they were great better than the SAG's I had on before apart from climbing out of ruts which the SAG's did very well. I can't say that the Machos were that good in mud, they were Ok but they were good on road. Grizzly Claws seemed better in mud.
As I said I now run diamonds (Greenway Atacama as I recall) on the 90 and they are very good so far but only used in anger 3 times. Not so geat on road, in fact I'm looking for a very cheap set of road wheels and tyres.
