merc engine question

I don't claim to kno anything about them, but I've just done a quick google that has suggested the following:

Sprinter 216CDI 156bhp 5 cylinder
Sprinter 316CDI 156bhp 5 cylinder
Sprinter 416CDI  156bhp 5 cylinder
Sprinter 616CDI 156bhp 5 cylinder  

So for a quick quess, I'd say it's out of a Sprinter and is 156bhp  :wink:

then u can find out what the engine is and find out its quality from that.

if its an old rangie could be out of a 190 car they had 5 cyls as below

Inline 5 cylinder 2.497 litre / 152.4 CID overhead cam Diesel engine

93 hp @ 4,600 RPM
122 ft-lbs @ 2,800 RPM
redline: 5,150 RPM

22.0 : 1 compression ratio

3.43" stroke, 3.31" bore

If so, then it's the one from the 190D and some of the early g-wagens.

I should probably get round to selling this one actually !
