Reverse light switch.
Andy.:
My reverse lights are not switching off when dis-engaging reverse gear?
This in turn is keep my reverse sensor on and rear roof lights which I have wired to the reverse lights.
Located the switch on the gearbox and cleaned the connections, but when in neutral the reverse lights remain on? Disconnect one of the connectors and they go off, why I think the switch is faulty?
Can they be cleaned?
Cheers.
hobbit:
Not worked on them, but you can try some wd40, into the contacts. But ny the sound of it a replacement would be on the cards, or a manual switch and bypass the old one
Homer:
The switch is easy to adjust and remove, try unscrewing it a few turns to see if the lights go off. Easy to take out and put back so I would try some WD40 in it.
I removed mine Friday. I need to get a new one.
Hope this helps.
Regards
Mark

Hello Stranger. :)
Try un-screwing it alittle and see if that does the trick..
It might be just a case of adjustment.
If you remove it you can test it with a meter,
Should be open circuit untill you push the end in.
TimM:
You can adjust the switch on the LT77 gearbox as fitted to the 200TDi's (yours is a 200 isn't it?).
I can find the 'official; instruction if you like from my RAVE CD, but it's reasonably obvious, you need to slacken one bolt to allow the adjustment, and then tighten it up once you have finished. You may as well try some WD40 on the contacts whilst you are there.
It sounds as if it is screwed in too far, so try turning it anti-clockwise
