Get some rock sliders - that would be a much better investment.

I'd get sill bars, (rock sliders). Check out www.mill-services.com Old fuzzy features does some nice galvanised ones. Not expensive either. That should get me a drink at Driffield. :D

"Fuzzy Features"
I can second the views of my grandfather about Mill Services though... not too expensive and will last forever. (Well almost)
IMHO, they look much nicer than the chequerplate, and will help to protect the bodywork.
If you want chequer plate sills, it's gonna be around 32 quid for a new set :

Does anybody know if mill services will powdercoat the sliders?
Whats the best type to get - the plain or the ones with the defender bars?
Cheers for all your veiws chaps - keep em coming!!

I suspect he probably does. Your best bet is to drop him a line and talk to him about what you want. He's a nice chap and understands Land Rovers.
I quite like the defender bar addition, but you need big-ish tyres on the vehicle, else I think they would look a bit daft.
Cheers,
