Hands-Free

<< < (2/5) > >>

jjsaul:
i have a hands free kit fitted in the 110 (with a nokia 6310i)

cradle screwed to the side of the stereo housing (didnt want to put any more holes in the dash...)

black box in dash tray

and i bought the stereo mute kit for £20 off ebay so it pipes the sound through the stereo speakers.

the mic is stuck to the top of the dash in the centre.

and the aerial is a tax disc holder stick on inside of windscreen type....£7 off ebay.

Bush Tucker Man:
Now I've got a 110 (instead of the desired TVR) it's got to be carried out I suppose?

Having had a search around the house, there's a pair of other Nokias in a drawer in the basement utility/laundry/Dog room
1100
3510

The 1100 seems almost too small & according to the 'Enhancements' page, there's no car-kit available for it.

The 3510 'vibrate-alert' is inoperable for some reason (comes in handy at work, if I'm with a patient)
Car-kit available

'Dew1911' recommends a 6310i
Having looked at the page, it seems quite a nice phone.
It doesn't appear to say what type of ring-tones it has (I'd like the more 'musical' type)

Any other recommendations for a decent (basic) fancy-free, non 'flippy', camera-free Nokia??

Mean Green:
I have a Nokia 6310i in my 90 with Genuine Nokia CARK-91 car kit.

The cradle is screwed to the front of the cubby box and the phone lies almost flat... the only problem I have ever had with it is when the LR broke down AA man jumped into it pulled it onto his wagon then (in the dark) thought the cradle was the handbrake and yanked it off!!

The black box is behind the 2002 style dash.. before I changed the dash I had the box screwed to the side of the cubby.. it sat on the drivers side and was below the finished level of the seat, so was out of the way.

The Mic is mounted on the headlining, just in front of the sun visor... only downside to this is about 2 inches of black wire heading to the sunvisor.. but it works well.

The speaker is mounted beneath the centre console pointing towards me.

The aerial, is a tax disk job.

The RRC is very similar... mic on door pillar, cradle on gearbox tunnel.

SWMBO's Honda... complete bitch to do!!! I wont even go into it, lets just say the stereo has still never been taken out!!!

Any chance of a photo (or 2)?, if you've got access to a digital camera, please.
