Water Leaks
Free Drink Spotter:
Before I drill a hole in the rear floor would someone be kind enough to
let me know where the usual leaks are ? Suddenly have about an inch in
the back after last nights rain. Sunroof and roof windows seem fine and it
seems to get in while it is parked.
Model is 1994 300 Tdi ES.
Have gone through all the old postings where there is some advice but few recent postings.
Cheers,
FDS

Apline lights are notourious leakers. Also lift the gutter trim (black plastic outside) as there are sometimes holes under them. Lastly the rear door seal could be worn (squashed)

Thanks Lee - I will look at the roof lights again and the gutter.
Anyone else any ideas?
Just looked under the rear mat in brother in laws 1995 - no leaks he thought.
Quite a nasty rusty damp mess was revealed.
I will report success or otherwise in due course.
Cheers,
FDS
BrumLee:
Mind you mine leaks like a sieve n/s/f and n/s/r but only if I park facing up-hill, so you guessed right..... I park facing down-hill
Bill jones:
Had a leak on mine on the off side just under the gutter. The water was getting in from the pannel joint just behind the rear side window. There was a tiny hole in the sealer between the two pannels just below the gutter, and I only found it after removing the trim pannels from inside and spending some time blasting a hose pipe on the outside to find it.
