Tyre choice again

<< < (2/3) > >>

Eeyore:
Further to Muddywebs comments - I'll say what I usually say!  :P

Make sure the speed rating of the tyre is appropriate to the rating of the vehicle if you're gonna use 'em on tarmac for commutin' and the like.

Lecture over!

I will just add that just because a tyre pattern is similar to an OEM job, it doesn't mean that the compound or carcass are identical. Not all treads are built the same, but some ore more samey than others. If that makes any sense......... :?

cheers

insa turbo remoulds great looking tyre and is very much like the bfg mud terrain except that a they are a remould tyre which are using micheline cassings  was put of myself from buying these as a friend of mine got a set and found some of the inside cassing was comming away from the side walls    not good he belives it happened when he aired down to im sure it was 18psi  for a play in the mud ect..anyway he was in the process of changing over wheel and tyre combinations and that was when he noticed only had a week that was enough to put me off but on the other hand was told by a very reputal 4x4 tyre dealer that they are a great tyre but remoulds need to check speed ratings ect as already mentioned

Thanks for all your comments.

Just checked the Insa Turbo website and it states that the tyres conform to various regs, including E9 108R 00 2000 and E9 109R 00 2001.

The 235/85 16 Dakar pattern is rated at 120Q which I believe is 100mph so is more than adequate for my Series 3.

I still haven't decided what to go for but I though that these looked like a good compromise between cost and tread pattern  :)

Why Don't You consider Camac Terras? They are a portugese Manufacturer!

 And They are Not Remoulds!

I got mine from        www.kingdavidtyres.co.uk      They are 255/75/15 and cost £45.00 each plus the legal robbing of the government!
