Carb and Manifold Modding

Yeeh, finally decided I think to mod the carb but........
What is the best way to do it?? Have someone weld the bits you need or make a plate??

If it is make a plate, what is the best material and anything that needs ot be taken into consideration when making it??

Some fine techie questions there for you to help me on :) cheers in advance
