Illigal in the UK. Hence you will have difficulty buying them.

--- Quote ---Snow studs. My General Grabber MT's have the holes in ready- but I can't find anywhere selling the screw in studs. Still- you can guarantee if I did mangage to procure some we would have no winter to speak of!

Ive got some! :D
They dont screw in, they look like an upside down mushroom(ie, wider at the base) and are pushed down into the hole. They have a tungsten carbide rode set into the middle of em that keeps em nice and sharp.
They are a complete [!Expletive Deleted!] to fit without a proper stud gun(force a 1/4 drive ratchet extension into the hole to stretch it, then push in the stud with an appropriate sized bit of pipe/tube, all lubricated with water or similar)
They are also bloody expensive(try about 35p per stud.) Dont forget youll need between 30 and 60 per tyre, 4 tyres wow
They work well on Ice tho. As for legality, Ive been stopped by police, and passed an mot with them fitted.

Grabber M/Ts. Wonderful tyres :D
Snow studs do indeed work, just watch the World Rally Championship when they're on a snowy stage.
Thin tyres (to create more ground pressure) & studs. 90-100mph+ on sheet ice
Off-camber, up-hill, down-dale & round-corners sheet ice at that :D
