Winch mounting
« on: November 09, 2005, 16:53:33 »
The Ramsey winch on my 110 sticks out further than I want it to. I've spoken to a couple of well-known people in an effort to find a more discrete bumper/mount......all to no avail  :(

Ideally I'd like to mount the winch between the front chassis rails (it's gonna be as tight as a duck's, but it would go), but I've no idea how to do it......and (don't want much do I !!), I want to fit either a standard front bumper, or one of the tubular extreme type - certainly something that doesn't stick out the front an extra 12".

Anyone got any ideas ?, I've seen winch trays advertised - is this what I need ?

And maybe now, there's a pic of the current winch & mount here....

 BEJAYZUS!!  thats a monster!! You could try giving David Hines a call at Technik http://www.technikoffroad.co.uk/
He's currently making me a tubular bumper to take a Warn M12000 which is a fairly big winch.

Yeah, it is a bit of a beastie, but it works fine, will pull forever (being hydraulic)....it's just so damn big !

I'll give Technik a call and see what they suggest.

Got a really good reply from Dave at Technikoffroad - he's going to do some investigations and get back to me. Seems like a nice, genuine sort of bloke.

Let's see if he can succeed where others have failed !!!
